Setting up Steam & Big Picture interface with shortcuts

About Steam, you can download it here : http://store.steampowered.com/about/
You can then install wherever you want, because it doesn't need to be in any particular folder.

Setting up Steam

Again I do not incite you to do some illegal downloads (read this article for more infos : http://pc-consolation.blogspot.fr/2015/04/some-informations.html) . If you are going to do, you should create a new account, due to their politics if they detect that you are playing a game you don't have you could be banned from their plateform.

Once you have downloaded and installed Steam you can launch it in standard way (it means not in Big Picture way).

When it is done, download your games, put them in the right folder, then create shortcuts of your emulators as much as you have games for this emulator.

Put the shortcuts in the SteamSC folder like this : "Consolation/Games/SteamSC"

Here again if you forgot to setting up Steam : http://pc-consolation.blogspot.fr/2015/04/steam-big-picture.html

Once your shortcuts are ready, modify the one you need and only modify the first line.

N64

You just need to add the full path of your game between quotes.

Exemple:

"C:\Consolation\Emulators\Project64 2.1\Project64.exe" "C:\Consolation\Games\N64\UTI_GoodN64_321\Mario Kart 64 (E) (V1.1) [!].z64"

NES

You just need to add the full path of your game between quotes.

Exemple:

C:\CONSOLATION\Emulators\fceux-2.2.2-win32\fceux.exe "C:\CONSOLATION\Games\NES\Batman - The Video Game (USA)\Batman - The Video Game (USA).nes"

PS1

Add : -nogui -loadbin

Exemple :

"C:\Consolation\Emulators\epsxe 1.9.0 complete\epsxe 1.9.0 complete\epsxe 1.9.0\epsxe 1.9.0\ePSXe.exe" -nogui -loadbin "C:\Consolation\Games\PS1\Bomberman World [SLUS-00680]\Bomberman World [SLUS-00680]\(PSX NTSC) Bomberman World.img"

PS2

You just need to add the full path of your game between quotes.

"C:\CONSOLATION\Emulators\PCSX2 1.2.1\pcsx2-r5875.exe" "C:\CONSOLATION\Games\PS2\Mortal Kombat - Armageddon (USA)\Mortal Kombat Armageddon.ISO"

SNES

Add : "1920 x 1080" "-nowindows" "-fullscreen"
(use your own screen resolution)

exemple :

C:\CONSOLATION\Emulators\snes9x-1.53-win32-x64\snes9x-x64.exe "1920 x 1080" "-nowindows" "-fullscreen" "C:\CONSOLATION\Games\SNES\Super_Nes_Street_Fighter_II_Turbo\Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (U) [!].FIG"

Wii/Gamecube

Add :  --batch --exec="the_full_path_of_your_game.iso"

exemple :

"C:\Consolation\Emulators\Dolphin\Dolphin.exe" --batch --exec="C:\Consolation\Games\GAMECUBE\bionicle_heroes\Bionicle Heroes.iso"

Create your Steam Shortcuts

on Steam click on "Add a game..." then "Add a non-steam Game"
you will probably have to browse to find yout shortcuts, add it, once it is done.

You now have a new Steam shortcut, right click on it and go to properties.

Rename it, I usually rename my shortcuts this way "ConsoleAbreviation - Game's name - MaxPlayer"
exemple : "N64 - Mario Kart 64 - 4"

Modify the "Start In" line, it should be the path to your SteamSC folder
exemple : "C:\Consolation\Games\SteamSC"

Modify the "Target" line, copy and past the "Start In" line into it then add a back-slash (this one "\" not this one "/") and the name of your shortcut (you can add ".ink" at the end of the name, this is the extension of a shortcut but it is not necessary)

Modify your Icon, images should be in PNG or TGA but i prefer to use PNG.

Steam overviews

This will be the icon of your Steam shortcut, it should be in PNG format or TGA.

Instead of showing the overview of the icon in Steam it would be a better thing to show an overview of the game.

So about this there are two ways of doing it, the first one if you get lucky enough is to find it on Google Image while using the "image size equal to" tools of research.
Steam Overviews are :
460*215 or 920*430

If you are lucky enough, then you will have to create your own image.
