Project64 Emulator

Website : http://www.pj64-emu.com/

Project64 is a Nintendo 64 emulator written in the C programming language for the Windows platform. This software uses a plugins system allowing third-party groups to use their own plugins to implement specific components. Project64 can play Nintendo 64 games on a computer reading ROM images, either dumped from the read-only memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or created directly on the computer as homebrew. Project64 is considered one of the top performing emulators used today.  -- Wikipedia

Download (last version when i made this article) :

Version to download & install

Actually you can install Version 1.6 or Version 2.2, they both works correctly for me, 2.2 has fixed somes issues and add default plugings that are better than the old ones.

Where to find your ROMs

First you have to go on a website that allow you to download your ROMs without paying anything in return. ton Find those websites just run search for "N64 roms" and then try to download a single ROM, if it asks you to subscribe/register or installing a software/installer, just go away.

- emuparadise.me
- doperoms.com
etc

Settings

First you should check that your ROMs are green,

If some are not, download the ROM from somewhere else until you find one that ProjectN64 will have a green state (Compatible).

Once you have found your ROMs you can configure the software,

Actually it is set in 1920*1080 16bit 60Hz
1280*720 is a confortable Windows resolution while on my sofa.

Indeed you can set your joysticks the way you'd like it to work.
Something great with this emulator is that if you have "Issues" with Plugin or Video plugin you can select plugins especially for that game that has issues!

Launch your ROM in windowed mode, then go to settings and you should see a tab with the name of your game, here is an example :
